There's an online yum/yuck like better, in which you just select your preference between two images. It's fun to do, because you feel like the system "cares" about your responses. And if the system can use that to give you a recommendation of art to see, so much the better.

This could be implemented as a PDA app as well where you walk through the museum and tag each artifact with your level of interest, which could then be used to generate custom tours etc.Nina Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11723930679606298550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37032121.post-47369903343101274202007-02-25T16:30:00.000-08:002007-02-25T16:30:00.000-08:00So how _could_ museums tap into the desire to opin...So how _could_ museums tap into the desire to opine and customize accordingly? I could see particularly large art museums guiding you to paintings you'd like, or maybe museums with frequent temporary exhibits or events could further promote to you those relating to your preferences. I think it's surprising that ticketmaster or fandango don't to nearly as good a job at this as netflix.

More useful might be in selecting the right audio tour to use with a particular exhibit/museum. Movie recommendations via collaborative filtering start being decent after asking users the right 3 multiple choice questions; I could see museum tours being far more to my taste if selected through a similar set of queries about my taste.Sibleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06861292758344267847noreply@blogger.com
